Everyday, BCS has to deal with various dial tone providers, resellers, and brokers. In most cases, it makes for a very long day. I always feel as if I am dealing with people who truly want to do a good job, but the providers’ processes, company policies, and bureaucracy get in the way.
Partly to vent, and partly to see how you are feeling, here are my grades for the various dialtone providers. I start with the Big Kahuna.

My hobby is messing around with Apple’s GarageBand software, and creating music, using my limited musical background, my son’s advice (he is a musician), and the software’s ability to cleanup my clumsiness.

With the advent of VoIP (Voice over IP) service providers, you now have more choices than before. I provide a summary of the more popular inexpensive consumer-class VoIP providers. These providers should not be considered as business-class, in whom you could trust your whole service.
I consider these consumer-class providers as sources for an inexpensive local/long distance dialing solution, and not as a replacement for your current telephone service.
By connecting their VoIP service to your phone system, you can add an outbound only line to your phone system which will reduce your monthly phone bill, while maintaining the reliability of your primary telephone service. Continue reading »

We don’t sell dial tone, but we connect your phone system to it. We have a lot of experience dealing with dial tone providers.
Understandably, many of you are re-examining your dial tone and internet service bills for savings. Be careful out there. The dial tone market is extremely competitive, and some sales people will use cutthroat and creative tactics to get you to sign a contract. Continue reading »
